Your adventure begins with a seamless transfer from the vibrant city of Cusco into the breathtaking Peruvian Andes. The route to Machu Picchu is an experience in itself, taking you through the sacred valley alongside the turbulent Urubamba River. The iconic Inca citadel is spectacularly situated at the confluence of the Andean highlands and the Amazon jungle, carved into a mountain ridge at approximately 2,430 meters (7,972 feet) above sea level. This unique geography, far removed from the former Inca capital, explains its strategic, almost hidden, location. To reach the site, you’ll travel to the base town of Aguas Calientes before making the final, dramatic ascent to stand among the mysterious, masterfully cut stones of the lost city.
