Conditional Redirect

When a user submits a form, it typically takes all users to the same page. More often, a generic thank-you page.

But every submission is different. So the experience needs to be different for different types of customers.

With MetForm, you can show a different page on the form submission based on their inputs.

You can build simple rules, for example, for a product order form:

  •  If the customer chooses a Premium subscription and prefers priority access, send them to the premium access page.
  • If the customer chooses a free subscription, send them to the regular access page.

Note that Conditional Redirect only runs after a form is submitted successfully. It never affects visitors who haven’t completed the form.

How to apply a conditional redirect for WordPress forms #

Once you create a form with MetForm, proceed with:

  1. Allez au MetForm → Forms dans votre tableau de bord WordPress.
  2. Clique le Modifier option for the form you want to apply the conditional redirect to. There, you will have the Paramètres du formulaire window for that form.
  1. Sous le General tab in Form Settings, scroll down to the Conditional Redirect section.
  2. Switch the toggle button to OUI to enable conditional logic.
  3. Now you can set your rules and conditions to redirect the user after form submission.

Understanding the conditional rule builder for WordPress forms #

To set the conditional rule for WordPress forms built with MetForm, you have the following options.

  • Logic: Choose between AND, OR logic to formulate the condition.
  • Redirect URL: Enter the page URL where you want to send the user if the condtions matches.
  • Field: Pick the form field you want to compare the input for a personalized redirection.
  • Operatior: You can use the comparison operators to check if the condition matches.
  • Valeur: Set the input value to meet the condition.

Logical Operators #

You can use the comparison operators to check if the condition matches.

Here are the operators you can use,

!=Not equal to

<Less than
<=Less than

URL de redirection #

Enter the page URL where the visitor goes if this rule matches.

Using Multiple Rule Groups #

Click + Add Rule Group to create more groups, each with its own destination. Groups are checked top to bottom, and the first matching group wins.

If none of your groups match, the form falls back to the standard Redirect To URL set above the Conditional Redirect section. If that field is also empty, the visitor simply sees the success message without being redirected.
