Instant search and smart filters surface exactly what you’re looking for in seconds, even in data-heavy tables. Instead of endless scrolling, you get faster insights, smoother navigation, and a much more efficient way to work through information.

Add a search bar in the WordPress data table #

To add a search bar, first create a data table in the block editor.

Learn: How to create a WordPress data table

Then navigate to Content → Settings y Enable Search by switching the toggle button.

Configure the data table search bar #

Once the search bar is enabled, go to the Content → Search, then,

  1. Search Icon: Choose an icon for the search bar.

Now the users can easily search and find the data they need in the WordPress data table.

Search Filter #

You can also enable the filter option to search column-wise in the data table.

For that, again go to Content → Settings y Enable Individual Search by switching the toggle button.

With this option enabled, when the user selects All Columns, the search function examines every single field in the data table. 

However, when you choose a Specific Column, the search limits its check to only that designated column.
