How to Show a Popup Based on Click Count #

Now go thorugh the steps below to learn on how to show poup based on click count.

Step 1: Select the Click Count Event #

Instead of showing a popup immediately, we will configure it to wait for user interaction.

  • Open your popup campaign in the PopupKit Editor.
  • Navigate to the Display Options tab on the left sidebar.
  • Locate the Open Event dropdown menu.
  • Select Click Count from the list of options.

Step 2: Define the Number of Clicks #

Once you select Click Count, a new field will appear to define the threshold.

  • Look for the Click Count input box (usually appears right below the dropdown).
  • Enter the number of clicks required to trigger the popup.
How to Show a Popup Based on Click Count
  • Example: If you enter 5, the popup will remain hidden during the first four clicks and will appear instantly upon the fifth click anywhere on the page.

Step 3: Set Your Display Conditions #

Now, tell PopupKit which pages should track these clicks.

  1. Go to the Display Conditions tab.
  2. Click + Add Condition.
  3. Choose where you want this behavior to lead:
    • Entire Site: To track clicks across all pages.
    • Singular: To track clicks only on a specific landing page or blog post.
  4. If you want to avoid bothering users on sensitive pages, use the Exclude rule for your Checkout or Contact pages.

Step 4: Activate and Save #

Finalize your campaign to make it live.

  1. Toggle the Activate Campaign switch to ON.
  2. Click the Save button.
  3. Test it live: Open your site in an incognito window, click around the page the specified number of times, and watch your popup appear!
